Mobile Substrate: Experiences of Middleware-Layer Object Mobility
نویسندگان
چکیده
The paper describes our experience of the design and utilization of a substrate for mobile objects that resides in the middleware layer. It has helped us to develop mobile object/agent systems including a heterogeneous mobile object system, mobile programming language systems, and mobile Web-search robots.

متن کاملTowards a Peer-to-Peer Object Middleware for Wide-Area Collaborative Application Development
In this paper we present DERMI, a decentralized wide-area event-based object middleware built on top of a peer-to-peer substrate. Its main building block is the underlying publish/subscribe event notification system provided by the peer-to-peer layer. By using this methodology, innovative benefits like object mobility and discovery, object replication and caching, distributed interception, high...
متن کاملCommon Object Request Broker Architecture
The rapid developments in the internet software technologies in the wireless networks need platform and language neutral distributed object-oriented components to manage and use different mobile devices and to provide services on top of them. In this paper, we evaluate Common Object Request Broker Architecture (CORBA) which is widely used middleware in the wireline network and present the perfo...
متن کاملMobile Object Layer: A Runtime Substrate for Parallel Adaptive and Irregular Computations
In this paper we present a parallel runtime substrate, the Mobile Object Layer (MOL), that supports data or object mobility and automatic message forwarding in order to ease the implementation of adaptive and irregular applications on distributed memory machines. The MOL implements a global logical name space for message passing and distributed directories to assist in the translation of logica...
متن کاملMultilevel Access Control for Environments with Object & Node Mobility
The need for addressing security concerns in mobile, distributed environments is well known. However, providing security mechanisms at the application layer is usually insufficient, especially when considering object-oriented (OO) systems. This paper presents a domain-based approach to access control in a distributed environment with mobile objects and nodes. The dynamic nature and semantic div...
